Conservation Programs

The Calumet County Land and Water Conservation Department is available to assist landowners with their conservation engineering needs. Waterways, diversions, manure storage, barnyards, feed storage, sinkhole treatment, and shoreline protection are just a few of the practices available. Calumet County partners with Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to meet the county's conservation engineering needs.

Calumet County can also offer cost-share on some select conservation practices through funds acquired through the Department of Agriculture, Trade & Consumer Protection as well as through the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Targeted Runoff Management (TRM) Grants.

All cost-shared conservation practices, as well as some permitted practices, are required to follow NRCS practice standards and construction specifications which are found in Section IV of the NRCS Electronic Field Office Technical Guide (EFOTG).
