What is a Memory Café? A memory café is an early-stage social engagement program that offers a comfortable way for individuals living in the early-stage of Alzheimer’s or other dementias to engage with peers also living in the early-stage of the disease through community-based social activities. It is a time and place to share stories, laugh, cry, share concerns and celebrate without feeling embarrassed or misunderstood, creating a place where we enjoy each other, and do not focus on the disease.
