Calumet County Parks Department consists of Calumet County Park, Ledgeview Nature Center, Brothertown Harbor, Stockbridge Harbor, Friendship Recreational Trail, Becker Lake Park and the Fox River Trail. The Calumet County Parks Department is also responsible for coordinating the snowmobile trail program in Calumet County and  participates in the State Snowmobile Program.

Lake Winnebago is roughly 28 miles long and 10.5 miles wide at the widest point. It covers 215 square miles with a maximum depth of 21 feet. The lake is enriched with a variety of fish specie including the largest Lake Sturgeon population in North America. Three of the parks are located on the eastern shore of Lake Winnebago. Fishing enthusiasts fish by boat, cast into the harbors or fish off the shoreline.

Lake sturgeon season is in February of each year.  Rules and regulations are set and enforced by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.  Three of Calumet County Parks provide winter access and are quite busy during sturgeon season.  It is quite the site to see thousands of fishing shanties scattered on the icy lake near our harbors.

Our parks have a variety of year round outdoor activities.  At Calumet County Park you can camp, launch a boat or in the winter take your shanty, ATV or snowmobile onto the frozen Lake Winnebago.  You can walk your dog, hike in the summer or in the winter cross country ski the trials that wind up and down the Niagara Escarpment, get towed up and snow tube down our snow tube hill during periods of natural snow, enjoy the sunsets, or just enjoy the outdoors

Ledge View Nature Center has many different activities that include guided cave tours, a trip up the 6o foot observation tower, view the indoor static displays, enjoy the nature trails and participate in the many programs put on by the naturalist staff.  The Friends of Ledge View is a group of dedicated volunteers that are involved in many facets of the nature center.

Brothertown Harbor and Stockbridge Harbor are very busy boating facilities in the summer and provide winter access to Lake Winnebago.

In the spring, summer and fall you can hike, ride your bike or your horse on the Friendship Recreational Trail and the Fox River Trail.

Becker Lake Park is one of the newest additions to the Calumet County Parks Department.  We have planted prairie, over 300 trees and constructed wetland areas.  In the future we plan to build hiking trails so you can enjoy the outdoors.
