SPECIAL NOTICE
Child Support Agencies are now under mandate from the State of Wisconsin to convert all child support orders containing an obligation to pay a percent of the payer’s gross income to a flat dollar amount. This must be accomplished by September 30, 2002.
The child support obligations will continue to be based on the Wisconsin Percentage Guidelines. Child support workers will obtain current wage information from a variety of resources and contact both parties with a proposed obligation roughly equivalent to the payments already received under the percent order. Both parties will have the opportunity to accept or reject the proposed amount. If both parties can come to an agreement, a Stipulation and Order will be prepared by the Child Support Agency and mailed to both parties. This will avoid a court hearing. If the parties cannot reach an agreement as to the payment of child support, a hearing will be scheduled, and the Family Court Commissioner will determine the appropriate amount of child support to be paid.
If you wish for your child support obligation to be converted now, contact the Child Support Agency at 920 849-1454. If you are the payer, be prepared to provide the agency with your two most recent years of income tax records and current pay stubs.
It is the mission of the Calumet County Child Support Agency to provide services to the public in an efficient manner consistent with Federal, State, and local policy. It is the belief of the staff that all children, when possible, deserve the emotional and financial support of both parents.
