The Corporation Counsel is the county’s attorney, representing the county in any litigation or legal matters it has an interest in. The Corporation Counsel also provides legal advice and opinions on laws, regulations, and policies to the county’s agencies, boards, commissions, committees, departments, and officials. The Corporation Counsel's office does not provide legal advice to the general public.
Other duties include:
~Representing the State of Wisconsin in child support cases
~Guardianships and protective placements
~Mental commitments and alcohol commitments
~Preparing Resolutions and Ordinances and prosecuting violations
~Reviewing contracts for all departments
